100 happy days. Day 2

I hadnt heard from Georgia since she told me she was on the coach and have been panicking all day. 

I got home from work and my phone went off. It was Georgia! She face timed me ( not done that before) she showed me the hotel, lobby and her room.

As she waved goodbye I screen shotted her happy face.

This really is the happiest point of my day!

100 happy days. Day 1

My good friend Sarah from extraordinarychaos completed her 100 happy days yesterday. She enjoyed doing it so much she was quite sad to end it. 

She asked me to start it as I enjoyed reading her daily spot of happiness.

Today is my day 1 to find something in my day that makes me happy.

So here it is

Its not a great photo but it's of Georgia and Josh going on holiday.

I didnt feel happy, I felt like my apron strings have been well and truly cut!

Georgia had booked, bought, packed and organised her and Joshs holiday to Mexico all by herself. And as I dropped her off at Manchester airport, kissed her goodbye and watched her walk towards the departures I realised that she is a lady and my apron strings wont reach to Mexico.

She has promised to text me as soon as she arrives at the hotel. I have spent the day constantly checking my phone even though I know she hasn't even landed yet! Its turning out to be a very long day.
I have never been apart from Georgia for longer than 4 nights when she went on a trip at primary school. Its going to be a long two weeks too.
Im missing her already....

THIS IS MEAN'T TO BE HAPPY I hear you say! 

Well it is. What made me happy is knowing that I have helped to make her into the sensible, mature thoughtful caring person who makes me very proud and I'm sure that she will have a ball.

MEXICO

In 15 days ( yes she is on countdown) my dear Georgia and her boyfriend Josh are going on their first holiday together to Mexico.

For Josh it will be his first time abroad! For Georgia her second time to Mexico. We all went as a family last year and had a lovely time.

We stayed in the Grand Palladium Collonial hotels. 

It was set in the middle of a rainforest and consisted of walkways through the rain forest to villas, pools and restaurants. 

On these walkways we came across all kinds of wildlife! And to this day I still dont know what this is.

And these little cuties were the entertainment while you sunbathed.

A beautiful hotel with lots of activities to do.

I lost three and a half stones before we went and because of this I determined to put all my fears to one side and do EVERYTHING .... And I did.

Being terrifed of deep and dark water I snorkelled in an underground cave. This look says it all!

But I survived..just!

Next the fear of heights. Zip wiring!

This one was a low one. AHHHHH 

I survived! Just!

Next absailing down a cenote!

That smile was me gritting my teeth really! 

 But I survived and what a view up!

Next! Swimming with whale sharks and giant sting rays!

Haha no way 

I know my limits! But Kevin and Ellis did it!

While me and Georgia did this!

I had you fooled then for a minute!

So it was no wonder that Georgia wanted to go back she had such a good time.

Here she is at Chichen Itza

While I wish her a fabulous time, I do wish she wasn't going so far away for her first time away. I just hope her and Josh stay safe and arrive home in one piece.

My pride and Joy

Im sure that everyones children are their pride and joy, not all of the time im sure, as they all have their moments don't they.

But as this blog is about my mad house, these are two more 'inmates'

Georgia 

Georgia is 19 and currently finishing her Foundation Degree in Art.

She wants to be a travel photographer and has got a part time job and saved up for three trips abroad this year. Mexico, Spain and then the big one.. Back packing round India with a group of photographers.

The mother in me is terrified of her going but know...hoping that I have brought her up to be mature and sensible I am so proud of her for doing it.

We waited eight year for her to 'come along' and my! Has she been worth the wait. 

( she will kill me for this photo hehe)

Then we have Ellis

Ellis is 15.

There isn't many recent photos of Ellis without his guitar in front of him.

He was the surprise we never thought would be and he his never failed to surprise me every day since.

He was always a very clingy child until the age of 10 when we bought him his first guitar.

Since then, that is all he clings too!

I do have to say he plays blooming well and is showing a very promising music career. Gigging solo, duo and in his band The Changelings. I really dont know how he does it. I am now known as Ellis's mum aka the taxi, to all his gigs. One day he may repay me with a small cottage and large plot of land.
